I started downloading pictures and notes from the health promotion board onto my assignment. I realised that animal fat is one of the main sources of saturated fat. Luckily, i don't eat the skin of meat. I also realised that i should eat less deep fried food but that was what i eat most.
I read about minimizing trans fats and found out that cakes, pastries, cookies contains trans fats and so, i should eat less of them.
I read that there are lucky individuals that can take high amounts of cholesterol. i hope i'm one of them becuase i love shellfish like prawns and crabs!
I was also happy to find out that fish is a good protein source. Although i do not eat oily fish, i eat fish almost everyday. I love tofu, i realised that they are a source of calcium. I will choose more calcium fortified food from supermarkets.
It seems that fat does not only provide energy but helps to absorbes, transport and store vitamins. I thought fat just made u fat, so now i know it has a use in the human body.
The article from the health promotion board said that lunchean meat and chips are processed foods containing alot of salts. I decided to eat less of these kinds of foods.
Knowing that sugar causes weight gain, i should eat less sweets and brush my teeth properly. I don't want to wear dentures when i'm old
